Nurture your child's VISION and PURPOSE, and awaken their incredible POTENTIAL, so they can operate in their strengths, natural talents, gifts, and abilities to make a bigger difference in this world---which is exactly what you want.
Here’s 9 Ways You Can Nurture Your Child’s Vision For Their Lives So That They Continue to Walk In Their Strengths and Natural Abilities!
Getting our kids to do what we want them to do is nearly impossible. Good luck trying to get your child to follow through on YOUR vision for THEIR life’s purpose. Unfortunately, we can’t decide what their purpose is going to be, their personality, or their vision for their lives. But we can certainly nurture it, support it, encourage it, and speak LIFE into it.
Do you sometimes wish you can just write a script for your child’s life? It can be hard to step back and instead of being the leader...be the follower and walk alongside your child in this journey we call LIFE.
You are obviously looking for ways to help your child to tap into their potential and walk in their strengths; otherwise you wouldn’t be here.
Here’s 7 Ways to Nurture Your Child’s Vision For Their Lives:
1. Every child has interests. Please try really hard to notice those interests. Be open-minded and supportive though. It’s like you will become their sounding board. Fan the flame, my friend!
2. Get them talking about what they LOVE. 3. Become like a coach. Draw out their thoughts and help them to slowly weave these thoughts and ideas into what will be their next steps...their to-do’s...their plans. 4. Take advantage of life’s moments, things that just happen naturally to open a conversation. When the news is on, ask your kids what they think about issues, about what is right and what is wrong, about what is important and what is not. Start slowly at first, then you can start asking those visionary questions like:
What’s most important to you in life?
Why do you care about those things?
What does it mean to have a good life?
What does it mean to be a good person?
5. Introduce options to them that they may not have thought about. 6. Expose them to new things. Find out what they respond to and feed that. 7. Help them explore possibilities and set goals from the INSTINCTS they already feel.
You can make your child feel safe when they talk to you about their dreams. Some of their hopes, dreams, and ideas might turn out to be dead ends. They might fade or change. That’s kids. They’re still learning. They’ll get it. If you consistently do just ONE of the strategies above, that’s a great start.
