The folder that keeps all your reading level information in one place that will travel with your child or students as they move up reading levels A to Z!
Parents: Collect reading level assessment results & reading goals for your child across grades K-8
Teachers: Collect reading level assessment data for your entire class, school building, or district across grades K-8 |
On the front of each folder, your child or student's name can go at the top right. Towards the bottom, there is a box where you can write the name of the school(s) they are or have attended. With each new year the folder is passed on, and the next teacher's name can be written. If you are a classroom teacher, this is great! When you have a question about an assessment, reading goals, or want to know more about their strengths and areas of growth as a reader, you know exactly who to go to.
|
Both inside pockets give your child or students a place to keep track of their reading goals based on how they did on their reading level assessment. The left pocket is where they set a goal for Quarter 1 & 2; the right pocket is where they set a goal for Quarter 3 & 4. There is a line for grades K-8. So every year, your child or students can continue to set goals and build upon the previous goal that was set.
|
On the back of the folder, you have a spot to put the reading instructional level for your child or students at the end of the school year. This will help YOU or a future teacher know where to start assessing them and pinpoint which reading strategies they need to be taught first at the beginning of the school year.
|
Also on the back of the folder, you have a spot to write reading goals or strategies recommended for next school year. Here's some options:
- Parents/Guardians: You can write down what your child's teacher recommends to practice over the summer and get to ready for next school year. - Homeschooling Parents/Guardians: You can write the reading goals you and your child create together. - Classroom Teachers: You can write reading goals for next year's teacher to review at the beginning of the school year with that child. |
NOTE: The image above is not what the actual folder looks like. It is just to show you how the fastener works inside the folder.
|
There will be metal fastener with adhesive that is attached on the inside of the folder. This fastener will hold all A-Z reading level assessment results, handouts, or forms for your child or students.
Parents/Guardians: You can keep all reading level assessment results, reading goal forms, and any reading handouts or strategies given by your child's teacher inside our Reading Assessment Journeys. Classroom Teachers: You can make all the copies each student will need from the time they start in kindergarten and all they way until they surpass Level Z. They will be organized all in one place and ready for additional assessments as needed. No more rushing to the copy machine trying to make assessment copies at the last minute; you will be all set for the entire school year. And as you pass the folders up to the next grade level, the next teacher shouldn't have to make copies either. |
